BJJ is a martial art focusing largely on grappling and ground fighting. It utilizes natural body leverage and proper technique to obtain dominant control on the ground and provides greater position for striking or submission holds.
BJJ has been proven, when used properly, to be an effective method for dealing with bigger and stronger opponents.
Students will progress in belt rank and could have the opportunity to compete nationally and internationally.
Classes are offered for students age 5 through adult. Classes run year-round and students can start at any time or any age.
Uniform purchase is required.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:
Our program is led from Brazil by our highly decorated black belt first degree instructor João Paulo de Sousa Soares. He trains under the Draculino with the Gracie Barra team. He has a true passion for BJJ and is a frequent competitor and winner in the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation competition circuit. He began our program in 2016 before returning to Brazil to extend his visa. He continues to lead it both as an advisor and as an online instructor until he is able to return to the United States to lead in person.
In his absence, our program is led by Mr. Joey Harrison. Mr. Harrison is a third degree black belt in Tae Kwon Chung Do Kwon, and is a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in his fourth year of training. He has been certified by Mr. Soares to teach in our school.
